Fall Women’s Retreat in Canby, OR, November 10-12

St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church invites all women to the bi-annual fall retreat.

When: Friday, November 10th – Sunday, November 12th

Guest Speaker: Fr Paul Jaroslaw from the Prophet Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Mission in Ellensburg, WA
Cost: $175 for two nights accommodations in hotel style rooms (Linens included!). Includes four meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday, and Breakfast on Sunday following Divine Liturgy)

  1. A Personal Story: How I Came to Love the Way of the Cross!
  2. The Way of the Cross: What are Crosses, and Why do we have to Bear Them?
  3. The Steps of a Good Man are Ordered by the Lord (Ps. 37:23): How do we Embrace the Cross and Overcome?

St. Anne Greek Fest in Corvallis, October 14-15

Eat a day the Greek way!  On Saturday, October 14 from 11am-7pm and Sunday, October 15 from 12pm-6pm St. Anne Orthodox Church will host the Mid-Valley’s fourteenth annual Greek Food Fest at historic Lewisburg Hall, 6000 NE Elliott Circle, Corvallis. The St. Anne Greek Fest has become a popular, family-friendly, mid-valley tradition and is one of only two Greek festivals in the state. Proceeds from the event help pay for the renovation and maintenance of the historic Lewisburg Grange Hall.

New to this year’s festival is the ROGUE Taverna, sponsored by Rogue Ale, featuring a number of Rogue’s most popular beverages. Appetizers, Greek red wine, beer, ouzo and retsina will also be offered in addition to Rogue products in the main tent.

Pacific Northwest Orthodox Youth Camp, August 7-10

OCA Pacific Northwest Deanery welcomes all kids ages 7-17 to the Summer Camp from August 7th to August 10th (Monday-Thursday) at All Saints Camp in Gig Harbor, WA.

St. John the Wonderworker Family Camp, July 17-21

The registration is now open for this year’s St. John the Wonderworker Family Camp!  The dates are Monday, July 17th (afternoon) through Friday July 21st (afternoon) at Sky Camp, near Eugene Oregon, which has been the location for the last few years. The theme this year is “The Holy Image”

This is a spiritual retreat for the whole family, where you can come and refresh your soul and get the best of both a retreat and a vacation!

 Attached are the registration form, the parental release form allowing your children to participate in the activities, an information flyer about the camp, and other information about the facility.  If you have questions you are always welcome to contact the registrar at: sjwfamilycamp@gmail.com.

Men’s Lenten Retreat, March 31 – April 2

The Greek Orthodox Monastery of St. John the Honorable Forerunner in Goldendale, Washington, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, invites you to a Lenten Retreat with The V. Rev. Fr. John Bethancourt.

Fr. John will be speaking on: Reflections on the Imaginative Faculty in Man

The V. Rev. Fr. John Bethancourt is the pastor of Holy Trinity (Antiochian) Orthodox Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He and his wife, Khouria Photina, led a small group of 25 souls into Orthodoxy at the end of 1995. Together with the parishioners of Holy Trinity the Bethancourts recently celebrated their 20th anniversary as an Orthodox Church. Fr. John and Kh. Photina have three grown children and two grandchildren. Their eldest son, Fr. Daniel, is also a priest in the Antiochian Archdiocese.
