Agia Sophia Academy is currently looking to hire a part-time Greek Language Teacher for the 2013-14 school year. Teaching days are Tuesday and Thursday with flexibility in the schedule. The ideal candidate speaks fluent Greek, has classroom teaching experience, strong classroom management skills, and an interest and ability in helping ASA develop a vibrant Greek language and culture program.

Pacific Northwest pan-Orthodox liturgical singing seminar, October 12, 2013

Pacific Northwest Pan-Orthodox Liturgical Singing Seminar, hosted by the Annunciation Orthodox Church in Milwaukie, Oregon, will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2013. All Orthodox singers are invited!

"Singing with the Angels" seminar will explore issues related to the ministry of song and the worshipping community, including chanting, congregational singing, vocal production, clarity of pronunciation, choral blend, and new music.

Our guest speakers this year are David Drillock, a Chairperson of OCA Liturgical Music and translations department, and Valeri Yova, a music director from St. Athanasious Orthodox Church, Ca, and a graduate of New England Conservatory.
